Greg LeMond was born in Ticino, Switzerland, in 1960. He started riding bikes when he was three years old and earned his first professional victory at sixteen. He turned professional at seventeen and has won fifty-four victories in the Tour de France. He was the first American to win the Tour de France, the only one to win three times, and is the only rider to win it wearing two different jerseys (France and USA)
He is the only cyclist to be inducted into the Le Mans Hall of Fame, the National Museum of American Cycling, and the World Cycling Hall of Fame.
